Construction work on the project to expand Eurovea shopping centre and build two office buildings and apartment buildings - including the first Slovak skyscraper - has crossed the symbolic ground-floor threshold. With three underground floors now covering most of the area, respective parts are either being extended or gaining height. 

The pace of construction is most visible in the shopping centre’s expansion - especially adjacent to the original building: the above-ground level reinforced concrete skeleton is being built, which is clearly visible from the soon-to-be leafy boulevard of Pribinova Street.  After the shopping centre opens in 2022, the extensive retail range will also include the fashionable clothing store Primark - as the only branch in Slovakia.

Construction of the first Slovak skyscraper - Eurovea Tower - is also making positive progress. With the underground floors in place, work is continuing on the base - which is a key architectural concept of the tower and comprises atypical floors. Their main construction component is 15-metre massive pillars. As these form the tower’s main supporting structure, they are made of high-strength concrete with special emphasis also placed on attractive visual finish. The base’s construction will take three to four months, following which the concreting of standard floors - i.e. for flats and apartments - will commence.

Despite several snowy and frosty days, construction work on this major project has continued on schedule and further exciting developments can be expected soon.
